We have looked several times at the case of Nathan Matthews and Shuana Hoare who were convicted of offences related to the death of Becky Watts.
Unsurprisingly, they tried to appeal both conviction and sentence. We said at the time that “we doubt that the Court of Appeal would interfere with the sentence“.
In fairness, this wasn’t the most surprising of predictions – and so it came to pass on 23rd June 2016 that the Full Court denied them permission to appeal against either their conviction or sentence.
At the moment we don’t have a transcript of the judgement – it should be out in a few weeks, and we will have a look at this again then.
